A Message from the Executive Director

Over the past 35 years we have built and successfully managed 466 units of public housing for families, elderly and disabled individuals. The rental subsidy contracts administered by the authority included 681 Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, 12 Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation units, 184 units of new construction and 12 single room occupancy units of intermediary care for the mentally challenged.

We have been involved in numerous community development initiatives to include the Orlando and Hall Place Conservation Project Areas. SRHA has contributed to the lives of our customers through youth leadership programs,  literacy, self-sufficiency programs and homeownership programs.

All of these efforts were made possible by our partners. We believe that more has been done and will continue to be done in our city through meaningful public/private partnerships with other agencies and organizations.

We look forward to our continued service and commitment to the City of Suffolk.
