How can I find out about employment opportunities with SRHA?

When does recruitment for posted positions end?

We typically post vacancies a minimum of five days or until a sufficient applicant pool is created. Once recruitment for that opening is closed, no further applications are accepted. SRHA reposts jobs if an insufficient number of qualified applicants have applied for an opening. SRHA reserves the right to close recruitment for posted positions without notice.

What happens after I submit my application?

The application is forwarded to the Human Resources (HR) department. All applications are reviewed and then forwarded to the appropriate manager for further screening. After the manager identifies the applicants to be interviewed, the HR department contacts the selected candidates to arrange interview appointments. Once a selection is made, HR notifies all interviewed candidates of the decision.

How can I find out about the status of my application?

You may call the HR department at (757) 539-2100. Because of the large number of applications received, SRHA does not notify applicants if their application was received, or if someone else was selected for the opening. Only interviewed candidates are notified of the decision.

How long will my application remain active?

Applications are kept on file for one year. During that period, you don’t have to submit a new application to apply for the same job posting. Instead, contact the Human Resources office at (757) 539-2100 to notify our staff that you would like to be considered for that job opening. An applicant is responsible for contacting us if they wish to be considered for a specific opening. A separate application must be on file for each position you are applying for.

SRHA reserves the right to contact qualified applicants to learn if they have an interest in a job opening.

Are internship opportunities available?

SRHA has limited intern positions available. For information regarding internship opportunities contact your College/University placement office.
