Parker Riddick/Cypress Manor Master Plan and Rehabilitation Project

The Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority (SRHA) is undertaking the Cypress Manor/Parker Riddick Master Plan and Rehabilitation Project to guide the authority to rehabilitate two (2) public housing properties and to play a role in the redevelopment of adjacent properties.  Cypress Manor and Parker Riddick are two (2) adjoining public housing properties owned by the Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority and built in the late 1970's and comprised of 206 apartment units. 

Adjacent properties include a privately owned underdeveloped 90 acre parcel with the potential for townhouses and single family homes, a city of Suffolk owned 3 acre parcel designated for townhouses as a component of the comprehensive neighborhood initiative, a mostly vacant shopping center formerly anchored by Food Lion and a Head Start Center owned by the STOP Organization.

SRHA's goal for the master plan is to explore opportunities to redevelop the sites in the project area to provide a mixed income and mixed use community that is consistent with the city of Suffolk's East Washington Street Corridor Initiatives' Plan.
