Struggling to Pay Your Rent?

Rent Relief is Available!
Virginia is administering relief for renters who have had a negative financial impact of any size or kind due to COVID through the Virginia Rent Relief Program (RRP). You can apply (or your landlord may apply on your behalf) to receive funds to pay missed rent payments back to April 1, 2020, and up to 3 months of payments into the future in some circumstances. As federal and state eviction protections are expiring, this may be one of the best ways to prevent eviction due to non-payment of rent.

Who can apply?
You can apply for rent relief even if you haven't missed a payment yet. ALL renters are encouraged to apply.

There are some eligibility requirements, but some of these requirements are confusing, so please don't rule yourself out without first talking to a Legal Aid representative to discuss your situation.
